Speldosa, also known as Wintergatan Music Box, is an Audio Unit instrument born from a distinctive partnership between Klevgrand and the renowned Swedish artist Wintergatan/Martin Molin. Wintergatan's innovative creations, such as the Marble Machine, in the physical realm meet Klevgrand's expertise in the digital domain in this unique collaboration. The amalgamation of these two worlds results in a product that not only visually captivates but also inspires the creation of new and compelling melodies.

Speldosa, which translates to "Music Box" in Swedish, encapsulates the core values shared by Klevgrand and Wintergatan, emphasizing their mutual appreciation for minimalism. The emotional depth found in a simple melody played on a music box rivals that of even the grandest symphonic compositions. The enchanting sound of a music box never fails to intrigue and captivate.

The meticulous recording of the music box by Wintergatan has been skillfully transformed into a versatile digital instrument plugin. With four distinct models (Modern, Vintage, Antique, and Eternal = Reversed), two unique Room models, and an algorithmic reverb, the instrument offers musicians a wide array of creative possibilities.

Wintergatan describes Speldosa as follows: "The sound was crafted by sampling a music box with an acoustic guitar serving as the resonance box. The superior quality of the samples led to instant magic. The Music Box sound became the defining feature of my bands Detektivbyrån and Wintergatan, known for their distinctive sound. Speldosa has been the secret ingredient in my musical journey, and I hope fellow musicians find it as invaluable as I have."
Wintergatan goes on to express that there is a unique charm to this particular music box sound that elevates it beyond mere novelty, transforming it into a genuine musical instrument. The captivating sound not only resonates profoundly but also ignites instant musical inspiration.
Notably, during the collaborative process with Klevgrand, when presented with the initial beta version of the plugin, Wintergatan found himself immersed in exploring its possibilities for hours on end. He effortlessly composed three songs that day when he had planned to focus on other tasks — a testament to the inspiring nature of Speldosa's sound.
